Advanced Seminar WS 19/20

How to measure physical properties of solids: a walk through experimental methods of solid-state spectroscopy

Mo. 14:00-15:00 h in the Seminar Room 202 of the II. Physikalisches Institut, University of Cologne.

In this advanced seminar we discuss modern methods to determine optical, electronic and magnetic properties of crystalline materials using high-presicison spectroscopy tools. Such measurements are
fundamental in uncovering the properties of new materials, for theoretical model and prediction testing.
In each talk a method will be explained in detail and made clear through up-to-date examples.
